London

Picture of london_eye So this was our third major trip to London (after 2005 and 2017), this time with assorted teen and pre-teen family members so maybe the focus was a little bit different than those previous trips. For one, we went up in the London Eye which we never managed before.
Picture of hungerford_bridge The views are spectacular not just for the close landmarks like parliament and Buckingham Palace but also up and down the Thames.
Picture of shard The trip around the wheel takes about 30 minutes. It was an extremely hot day when we visited but the capsules are climate controlled so it was a pleasant experience. This is a view of the Shard with the Canary Wharf district in the background.
Picture of parliament Apart from the Eye we did a number of 'best of London' type things, including walking past parliament (I think it looks it better from bridge level than the top of the Eye) and visiting Westminster (next picture)

Picture of national_gallery We did not go to the National Gallery, well, at least we didn't go inside it, but there was this nice picture at sunset so here it is.
Picture of natural_history We did go to the Natural History museum though. Extensively. This is a fantastic collection and depending on your interests there are rooms that could consume an entire afternoon.
